During the project, one of the key communal spaces of the Library and Information Centre of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences — the ground-floor atrium, which had become somewhat outdated and dark — needed to be given a friendlier and brighter appearance. The library's history served as the theme for the decoration, evoking the upcoming 200th anniversary of the institution's founding. The installation is also connected to the 2023 Hungarian Science Festival programme series.
Commissioned by the Library and Information Centre of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, we produced nearly 60 m² of foamed PVC boards as interior decoration for the event. Naturally, in keeping with the outstanding standard of the event series, we paid very close attention to every small detail, including the aesthetic segmentation of the boards.
Foamed plastic ongrofoam PVC board is a plastic-based advertising medium suitable for both outdoor and indoor use. Its base colour is white; it is a lightweight and flexible board material available in thicknesses of 1–10 mm. It is printed directly and digitally in high quality with UV-resistant ink on one or both sides. The standard sheet size is 300×200 cm, but by joining panels the printable size is unlimited. Thanks to its low weight, it can be easily fixed to a wall or any other flat surface by adhesive or screws. We recommend it primarily as a base material for exhibitions, shop fronts, signboards, directional or informational panels.
