Choosing the right printing technique

In the advertising industry, choosing the right printing technique is crucial, as it greatly influences the quality and durability of the final result. There are two popular methods.

Choosing the Right Printing Technique

When should we choose direct printing for board materials, and when should we laminate with printed vinyl film? Let's look at when it makes sense to choose one over the other:

Direct printing on board materials

The advantage of direct printing is that it is fast. Very fast. UV printing dries instantly, so boards are ready in moments. The ink is applied directly to the material, making it durable and resistant to scratches, UV radiation, and other environmental influences. It's true that the surface won't be glossy, but regardless, the end result is attractive and aesthetically pleasing. It is also cost-effective, as there is no need for separate film printing and lamination. Its only drawback is that it cannot be bent, although in many cases this is not necessary when our partners choose this printing method.

In summary, if you need an advertising board for indoor or outdoor use, and you want it quickly and cost-effectively, we recommend direct printing.

Lamination with printed vinyl film

The word "lamination" comes from the French word "cacher", meaning to hide or cover, transmitted via German. The essence of lamination is that a printed material is fixed onto a harder, rigid backing. This backing can be, for example, cardboard, foam board, wood, or metal.

This method can be applied to various surfaces and materials, including curved or uneven surfaces. For indoor use it is durable, but outdoors it can fade easily. It provides a glossy surface, so if you want shiny prints, this is the sure choice. It is recommended for custom shapes and non-flat surfaces, as well as for advertisements that need to be changed frequently.

In summary, both direct printing and laminated vinyl film are excellent solutions in advertising production, but they are better suited to different situations. Direct printing is fast and cost-effective for flat-surface boards, while laminated vinyl film is ideal for uneven, curved surfaces or glossy prints. Just tell us what you want, and we will select the right technique to ensure you achieve the best result.
