The most commonly used types are the screw-in flag base, the ground spike flag base, and the cross base. The screw-in flag base is made of strong steel; the flag pole is attached to one end, while the other, spiral-shaped end can be "screwed" into soft ground. Its use is primarily recommended outdoors, placed in earthy, soft soil.
